Body Pieces
Artist book. Groningen, Netherlands

Re-edited 2025

The performance begins with the measurement of each part of my body. These dimensions are added together and divided by 42. The resulting number is typed onto 42 identical cards, which will be distributed to spectators who approach to request what would represent a part of my body.
The idea stems from a reflection on commodity fetishism and the lack of connection during the pandemic. If materials are never truly what they seem—if we do not know where they come from when we consume them, and if objects are offered to us as representations of values, desires, or emotions—what would happen if we were given the possibility of consuming a person through their symbolic representation?
