Roki's House
2024. Mix-media installation (audio and objects from Roki’s house)
Roki’s House is an on-site investigation in Dikaia, Greece. Blending archive research, installation, and participatory processes, the work proposes a reactivation of memory through the re-enactment of intimate histories. Drawing from an investigation into the belongings of a deceased resident, the artist discovered a series of love letters that she selected, rearranged and transcribed. Their content was voiced by women participating in the project and recorded in the living room of the resident’s house. The resulting installation, presented in the same space where the research and recordings took place, reflects on how the microhistory of an individual can acquire collective and affective meanings through an artistic arrangement of objects, spaces, texts, and bodies.
