As a reinterpretation of the video Belonging To A Home (2021), three characters jump out of the screen to position themselves in the gallery. They appear as alternative versions of myself and represent places which have marked my life. The characters occupy the space, wondering what gesture or movement can be made at a table or by a window. The cadence of a domestic dance that is never fully completed.
At the center, there is another person who does not have a defined identity but embodies the idea of the artist behind the work—or as the work itself. Their only role is to observe the audience and, in turn, invite them to look. In this way, we reflect on the discomfort that can arise between the piece and the viewer. Who is watching whom?
Highlighting only the countries where I have lived the longest—, Iñaki (red), Emma (pink) and Santiago (black) are reconfigured to interact with a new place: the gallery
On the way up to the gallery, while playing the audios of the original video, I remove my clothing, my skin. I change. And when the end comes, I invite the audience to respond to a poetic questionnaire: To which of the houses I have lived in do you belong?
What does a staircase connect?
a) Being with mom
b) Waking up at 7 a.m.
c) It was snowing that day
d) Turns on the red lights
e) Too much space in which
f) to grieve
g) Midnight matters
h) A pretentious landlord

The questionnaire is composed of different feelings or experiences the artist has had in each of these houses.
Dear visitor: to complete the process of inhabiting the house, outside of this exhibition you must carry out one of the actions or feelings you selected. I will not be watching you, and you may decide what that means to you.
